Internet Freedom Conference

The Austrian Chairmanship of the OSCE  and the Czech Chairmanship of the Council of Europe  organise the conference "Internet freedom: the role and responsibilities of intermediaries" in Hofburg, Vienna. 

As internet intermediaries are increasingly being asked to counter online hate speech and illegal activities, there is a need to consider more deeply the scope of their duties and responsibilities to avoid arbitrary restrictions of freedom of expression.

The conference brings together key stakeholders to examine current questions concerning the regulation of Internet intermediaries as gatekeepers to the exercise of freedom of expression online.
