Media Literacy Training 1

Three international media literacy workshops will take place in 2017 (in Austria, Poland and Germany), organised by CMFE and COMMIT. The workshops will target community media practitioners, journalists, journalism schools and trainers, media regulatory bodies/authorities, press councils, civil society organisations (in particular migrants’/women’s organisations) to collect local existing good practices and experiences related to hate speech/discrimination.

The first workshop will take place in Vienna on April 3. – 4. 2017 and will focus on:

• Counter narrative storytelling – contents, formats and strategies to effectively circulate alternative narratives and counter discrimination

• Counterspeech and audience engagement – tools and strategies to strengthen audience and community interaction in online forums and safeguard hate-free discussion environments
