Post-truth: What is it and what can we do about it?

The event, that will take place on July 12 2017 in Newport (Wales, UK), will explore what can be done in order to ensure that statistics, facts and evidence are part of a balanced and informed debate in the media and politics.

The panel will discuss what 'post-truth' is, and whether this new word describes an already familiar problem with featured speakers from locally based organisations, such as the People and Work Unit , the Office for National Statistics ' Newport campus and Cardiff Business School .

The event is organised by the Alliance for Useful Evidence , in partnerships with the Royal Statistical Society .

This is a free event but attendees must register first.
