Rest and Refuge Scholarships for Journalists

Journalists eligible for the scholarships operate in oppressive or dangerous environments, or cover stories which put them directly at risk: their stay in Berlin is meant to offer them a period of rest or an opportunity to lie low for some time, but they must have the intention to move back to their countries after the end of their stay. 

Scholarships cover travel and transport expenses, accommodation, and pocket money for up to three months; successful applicants are not required to write or produce anything during their stay in Berlin. The deadline for applications is July 31, 2017.
