Guilty verdicts in long-running trial of four men for the assassination of publisher Slavko Curuvija

A court in the Serbian capital Belgrade has convicted three men of the 1999 assassination of the journalist, editor and publisher Slavko Curuvija. A fourth man, who is still at large, was also convicted in his absence. Together they must serve jail terms totalling 100 years.

Curuvija was shot in the back 17 times in front of the building where he lived in Belgrade.
All four of the accused are former intelligence officers of the Serbian State Security Service.
