The Stop Funding Hate campaign aims to tackle the culture of hate, demonisation and division that is poisoning political discourse. It highlights the deep and widespread public concern about UK media hate speech.
The campaign was started by an online community horrified by the upsurge in media hate speech that accompanied the Brexit referendum in the UK. In the space of a few days, Stop Funding Hate was transformed from being a small online discussion to a public campaign supported by tens of thousands.
Over 40,000 people have now signed the petition calling for Virgin Media to withdraw its advertising from the Sun newspaper.
