In times of steadily accelerating technological progress, also technics of surveillance are evolving.

To journalists it sometimes is crucial to stay anonymous or to keep their information or sources hidden in order to evade censorship or prosecution.

For that purpose, the dark-web can be a useful tool to stay digitally anonymous.  The “dark-web” does not differ much from the “clear-web” but its websites cannot be found by the search engines, but can only be visited using a specific tool.

This short guide gives journalists a basic insight into the advantages of the “dark-web” and tips how to use it for their work, dealing with elements such as the Onion Router, Clearnet and Darknet.
