Ossigeno informazione mid-2016 report

Between January and June 2016, Ossigeno Informazione has examined everymonth an average of 148 reports related to threats and abuses against journalists, bloggers, commentators and Italian publishers.

An average of 37 reports per month has been considered valid after an in-depth and rigorous examination based on Ossigeno monitoring method . The overall list of verified attacks for the period January - June 2016 amounts to 221 cases.

The list displaying the overall amount of threats and abuses against journalists in Italy can be accessed here  and it is part of the weekly updated counter which collects records of intimidation against the press since 2006.

Each violation is classified based on the type of crime or unlawful act committed. In addition, each of the events checked is documented in detail and this information is made available to everyone for free.

The most serious cases are reported to the institutions and international organizations.
