Currently, publishers do not have their own rightsto protect their press publications under EU copyright law. The European Commission’s proposed changes to the EU Copyright Directive would give broader legal rights to copyright holders. The Directive is currently under scrutiny in the European Parliament and some of its core provisions, including the Publisher’s Right , face fierce opposition.
