Conference: Protection of Journalism

The Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam (UVA) organizes the conference Protection of journalism and safety of journalists: from a chilling to an enabling environment as a closing event of the project “Audit of freedom of expression in the Netherlands ”. 

The conference will examine the existing law and policy framework for freedom of expression throughout Europe, focusing on safety-related issues such as killings, threats and other crimes against journalists.
