The prize, awarded by the International Womens' Media Foundation, honours the memory of Anja Niedringhaus, AP German photojournalist killed on Friday, 4 April 2014, while covering the presidential election.
Candidates for the Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award must work full-time or part-time as a woman journalist and present a portfolio reporting in challenging environments.
