On August 29th and 30th the EFJ (European Federation of Journalists) member in Belgium organises a two-day workshop on “Editorial independence in the newsroom” for journalists and EFJ members in EU countries, in particular union leaders from Southern and Central Eastern Europe.
The main objective of the training is to exchange best practices on the work of editorial boards and other self-regulatory measures to ensure independent and quality journalism. The workshop will focus on the specific needs of participants from the Balkans and Turkey where editorial freedom is at stake. Among the participants, an informal network of experts will be formed for future follow-up.
