Russian journalism is still alive. An upshot of the process of “unnatural selection” underway in the country is that the people who’ve remained in the profession are people for whom journalism represents a genuine vocation. Undeterred by any administrative or financial obstacles, and occasionally risking their own safety and security, Russian journalists continue to do their work.
Open Russia awards the very best of them. Journalists and media editorial teams may submit publications in each category prior to November 1, 2016. The different categories foreseen by this prize include: Investigations; Dispatches; Opinions; Interviews; Opinion journalism; Regional themes.
The awards ceremony will be held in December 2016 in Tallinn, Estonia.
