The European Union Young Filmmakers Competition 2018 is open to filmmakers residing in the EU and aged between 18 and 35 at the deadline for submissions (31/10/2018).

The competition is part of the #EUandME campaign, which aims to show how EU legislation and initiatives helps the citizens to pursue their passions. Entries can be submitted in one of five categories:

  • Mobility
  • Sustainability
  • Skills & business
  • Digital
  • Rights

Participants must submit an online application form that includes:

  • a link to a short film made in the last 5 years (no specific language requirements)

The jury, composed of five European film directors, will review the entries and choose 10 nominees. The five winners will be selected by a public online vote that will run from January to February 2019. A grant of €7,500 will be provided to the five winners to produce, shoot and edit their film by April 30, 2019.
