From #MeToo stories to cases of forced marriages and feticide, media coverage of violence against women and girls has increased. Here are IJNet ’s three tips for better reporting about gender-based violence:

  1. Assess dangers for sources
  2. Conduct interviews carefully (and do not cry)
  3. Move beyond stereotypical images
