Here the text of the alert verified and published by the Media Freedom Rapid Response:

Two Kurdish journalists based in Greece, Çağdaş Kaplan and Berçem Mordeniz were arrested and detained for documenting the actions of Greek police arresting another person in Syntagma Square in Athens. Their hands were tied with plastic ties behind their backs and they were taken to the Acropolis Police Station, where they allege mistreatment and inadequate protections against the COVID-19 pandemic. Mordeniz, who suffers from asthma, was not given her medicine while in custody. The journalists were subsequently released, but they have been instructed to attend court on 10 August.
