Attacks on the Press is a comprehensive guide to international press freedom compiled every year by the Committee to Protect Journalists.

The book presents analytical essays from CPJ and other experts, focusing on different forms of threats faced by journalists in the exercise of their work. In this sense, the book is a guide for journalists to be informed about where and how abuses against the press are taking place. At the same time, this publication is also a tool for direct advocacy, as it brings the attention on violations and those responsible for them.

The publication devotes specific attention to assess dangers to freelance journalists in conflict zones and to evaluate new forms of censorship. It also examines the long term impact of killings of journalists, and reviews available cyber-security for journalists. Finally, the publication is complemented by a list point out the 10 most censored countries in the world.
