This report provides a critical assessment of the European Commission’s rule of law monitoring mechanism, highlighting the gaps and discrepancies between the Commission’s rule of law report and the one submitted by Liberties and its members in January 2023.
The report reviews and assesses the methodology and scope of the monitoring exercise, as well as the effectiveness of country-specific recommendations and their potential for public mobilisation and advocacy.
