On October 15th and 16th, the Körber-Stiftung will host the sixth Exile Media Forum (EMF) and the Young Exile Media Forum in Hamburg, Germany. The EMF provides a platform for exiled journalists to network with international colleagues and engage with representatives from civil society and politics. This year's theme will be exploring methodological approaches and solutions, by discussing innovative funding and distribution models for exile media outlets. Other important questions impacting exiled journalists will also be addressed, such as the challenges of legal status, collaboration between German and exiled media, as well as the opportunities constituted by the AI for the community of exiled journalists. Furthermore, within the framework of the Young Exile Media Forum, exiled journalists under the age of 40 will have the chance to join practical workshops directed at developing methods of fact-checking using AI technology.
Deadline for registration: September 24, 2024.
