Journalist and Media Staff Killed in 2017

This digest has been produced in cooperation with the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ)

Eighty-one journalists have been killed worldwide in 2017, according to the International Federation of Journalists' (IFJ) Killed List, published on 1 January 2018. The list details the journalists and media staff killed in targeted killings, car bomb attacks and cross fire incidents around the world during 2017. In Europe, 5 journalists were killed throughout the year.
