The Media Viability Manifesto (MVM) aims to create a unified framework for global media development, fostering collaboration and systematic exchange, learning, and coordinated action among diverse stakeholders, including media development organizations and their partners, governmental and non-governmental donors, policymakers and decision-makers, think tanks, academics, and media organizations of all sizes.

It is not a universal strategy for individual projects but a foundation for creating context-specific solutions and a collaborative framework to guide discussion and professional growth in the media development sector. The MVM was collaboratively developed between 2022 and 2024, incorporating insights from 152 individuals across 55 countries and representing 86 organizations.
