In this article, Maniou and Papadopoulou ask whether female journalists enjoy the same level of press freedom as their male colleagues in the digital age. Using incidents recorded by Mapping Media Freedom and the reports of the Coalition For Women In Journalism (2020-2024), they document threats against women and non-binary journalists in western media systems.
