European Media and Platform Policy (EuromediApp) - Stakeholders

European Media and Platform Policy (EuromediApp) is a Jean Monnet network dedicated to studying, analysing and discussing benefits and challenges of digital platforms in Europe and world-wide.

By bringing together knowledge and research capacity from all over Europe and beyond, EuromediApp provides space for national and transnational deliberation on how future digital services should and will be governed. Working papers, teaching material, workshops, conferences and dedicated schools for advanced students are our working tools.

EuromediApp operates for three years (2020 – 2023) along three modules:

1. European political democracy (inclusion and exclusion, diversity and uniformity, trust and distrust);
2. Quality of European (news) ecology, including journalism, individualised procedures of political information, populism, polarisation and depolarisation, personalisation, scandalisation, information/propaganda/misinformation; and
3. European governance models of digital media and the internet by media/platform companies and governments, utopian and dystopian views of digital media and democracy.

News Media Europe - Stakeholders

News Media Europe represents the interests of publishers of newspapers and news media on all platforms.

News Media Europe includes members from Belgium (Flanders), Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom. The associations from Hungary, Lithuania and Romania have an associated membership.

Oxford Internet Institute - Stakeholders

The Oxford Internet Institute is a multidisciplinary research and teaching department of the University of Oxford, dedicated to the social science of the Internet. The institute's activities are developed through research, teaching and policy.

Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network - Stakeholders

Established in 2012, the Internet & Jurisdiction (I&J) Policy Network enables multi-stakeholder cooperation among civil society, academia, technical operators, international organizations, states and internet platforms to address the tension between the cross-border nature of the internet and national jurisdictions facilitating the development of global policy standards. Three thematic programs are currently carried out: Data & Jurisdiction, Content & Jurisdiction, Domains & Jurisdiction. The I&J Observatory keeps track of jurisdictional trends around the world.

Metamorphosis Foundation for Internet and Society - Stakeholders

The Metamorphosis Foundation for Internet and Society  is active in the promotion of democracy, transparency and media freedom in Macedonia. It carries out a number of different activities, with a special focus on trainings and advocacy campaigns, and it runs several projects and programs in several fields related to innovation, rights, and transparency. 

Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University - Stakeholders

The Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University is an interdisciplinary, University-wide centre which mission is to explore and understand cyberspace; to study its development, dynamics, norms, and standards; and to assess the need or lack thereof for laws and sanctions.

The Internet Monitor - Stakeholders

The Internet Monitor is a research project based at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. Internet Monitor's aim is to evaluate, describe, and summarize the means, mechanisms, and extent of Internet content controls and Internet activity around the world. The project helps researchers, advocates, policymakers, and user communities understand trends in Internet health and activity through research, analysis, and data visualization.

No Hate Speech Movement - Stakeholders

A youth campaign of the Council of Europe for human rights online, to reduce the levels of acceptance of hate speech and to develop online youth participation and citizenship, including in Internet governance processes.

Media Reform Coalition UK - Stakeholders

The Media Reform Coalition was set up in September 2011 to coordinate the most effective contribution by civil society groups, academics and media campaigners to debates over media regulation, ownership and democracy in the UK. Its work moves from the fact that Britain has one of the most concentrated media environments in the world, with 3 companies in control of 71% of national newspaper circulation and 5 companies in command of 81% of local newspaper titles.

The Media Reform Coalition is committed to supporting media pluralism, defending ethical journalism and protecting investigative and local journalism.

Share Foundation - Stakeholders

The Share Foundation is an international NGO based in Belgrade (Serbia) focusing its activities on Internet and digital media as fundamental elements for achieving democratic change in society, as a tool for improvement of government accountability and transparency, and socioeconomic empowerment of citizens.

SHARE Defense is part of the Share Foundation and its goal is to fight for the public interest concerning digital rights within the fields of privacy, free speech, government transparency and efficiency, surveillance and human rights. SHARE Defense staff includes lawyers, analysts, journalists and technicians with an expertise in the protection of digital rights.
