This infographics offers a visual representation of the outcomes of the monitoring activity conducted by Index on Censorship’s Mapping Media Freedom project.

Turkey, Italy and Hungary appear to be the countries with the most serious record in terms of attacks against media workers. This data shall be interpreted keeping in mind that, as pointed out in the note on methodology, Mapping Media Freedom is based on crowd-sourced information and the number of violations does not reflect the severity of the cases reported to the map.

The infographic also divides the threats recorded into different categories, differentiating among cases of imprisonment, loss of employment, censorship, legal measures, harassment and violent attacks.
