The EBU report "Trust in Media 2017" is based on data published in the 86th Eurobarometer survey which consists of around 1000 face-to-face interviews in EU Member States as well as acceding and candidate countries.
Compared to previous studies, trust in traditional media (i.e. broadcast media and the press) has increased across Europe whereas trust in social networks is at its lowest ever level. South-eastern European citizens, together with those in the UK, show the least trust in the written press while Western European citizens show the least trust in social networks.
