19/05/2019
A panel on the role of history in journalism to fight revisionism, fake news, and disinformation
From Russia to India and the United States, around the world historical revisionism fuels fake news and disinformation. But what does it mean for journalism? Should newsrooms think harder about their role in a battle over control of historical narratives? How do we bring more history into our coverage of current events?
A panel at the International Journalism Festival in Perugia organised in association with Coda Story.
Panellists:
- Natalia Antelava (co-founder and editor-in-chief Coda Story),
- Bobby Ghosh (member of editorial board Bloomberg),
- Natalie Nougayrède (editorial board member The Guardian),
- Tom Standage (deputy editor The Economist).
