Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights (CILD)

Founded in 2014, the Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights (Coalizione Italiana Libertà e Diritti Civili, CILD) is a network of civil society organizations that protects and expands the rights and liberties of all, through a combination of advocacy, public education and legal action.

CILD also coordinates a Centre for Legal Action that operates as a clearing-house, facilitating the interactions between law firms and non-profit associations in need of legal assistance.

- Legal information: CILD offers information support, in some remote cases, for anyone who asks for help in the field of civil liberties. A sort of emergency legal aid, for a concrete action orientation of protection.

- Strategic Litigation: When the only communication and lobbying is not enough, CILD supports the judgment actions with strategic litigation, a specific legal action capable of activating a regulatory change, promote awareness and debate around a theme, mobilizing public opinion, to push policy makers to overcome regulations that violate the fundamental rights of individuals.

- Pro bono legal advice: CILD arranges a free legal aid service, as an interface between civil society organizations and lawyers. Requests may concern: legal opinions, statutory acts, comparative research or case law, legal and, in exceptional cases, translations, initiation of litigation.

- Access to information: CILD monitors the implementation of the Italian FOIA

Journalismfund.eu is an international NGO seated in Belgium and operating Europe - wide. Beside providing financial support to staff or freelance journalists for conducting research for an investigative journalism project, Journalismfund.eu provides advocacy support to staff and freelance journalists, editors, media outlets as well as civic bloggers.

Journalists’ Union of Athens Daily Newspapers – JUADN

The Journalists’ Union of Athens Daily Newspapers – JUADN was founded in 1914 as the Journalists' Union. It adopted its current name in 1947. It is a member of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).

Journalists’ Union of Macedonia and Thrace Daily Newspapers

The Journalists’ Union of Macedonia and Thrace Daily Newspapers (ESIEMTH) was founded in Thessaloniki, where it is one of the oldest unions, and later extended to the rest of Macedonia and Thrace. The oldest journalists’ union in Greece, it is a member of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).

Kosovo Free Helpline

Journalists in Kosovo experiencing harassment or receiving threats can call Kosovo Free Helpline, a free help 24/7 helpline for support and advice. Launched in October 2015 by the Association of Professional Journalists of Kosovo (AGPK) and the OSCE Kosovo Mission, the phone line is accompanied by an awareness campaign urging journalists to report all cases of intimidation and violence. La Maison des Journalistes

La Maison des Journalistes (House of Journalists) is an association founded in France in 1901 that, since 2002, has been offering shelter to over 300 international journalists in exile. It provides accommodation, support, and advocacy for six months on average.

Latvian Association of Journalists

The Latvian Association of Journalists (Latvijas Žurnālistu Savienība, LŽS) is the union representing the journalists active in Latvia. It provides its members with different forms of support, and it periodically organizes contests and assigns awards.

LawWorks is a London-seated NGO operating in United Kingdom. LawWorks provides legal and advocacy support for staff and freelance journalists, editors, media outlets, civic journalists and bloggers, as well as NGOs and journalist associations. Lithuanian Journalists' Society

The Lithuanian Journalists' Society (Lietuvos žurnalistų draugiją, LŽD) was born after the restoration of the country's independence in 1991. Besides defending its members' interests and promoting professional ethics and solidarity, the society aims more in general at supporting the role of journalism in social and cultural development.
